Ghostbusters II – Sega Master System Game (Activision, 1989)

This is a retro-gaming classic with a strongly nostalgic flavor for those who lived through the 8-bit era. It’s not the most technically refined game, but for an “old school” Ghostbusters fan it represents an authentic piece of franchise history. Ideal to collect and still play today on Master System or emulator.

Description

The official Sega Master System version of the video game inspired by the Ghostbusters II movie.
Published by Activision in 1989, this 8-bit title lets you relive the Ghostbusters’ adventures in the ghost-infested New York of the saga’s second chapter. It includes the classic driving phases, combat against ectoplasms, and the final showdown against Vigo the Carpathian.
Box in excellent condition with vivid colors, no tears or significant wear marks.

Value for Ghostbusters fans

For fans of the Ghostbusters franchise, this game has high value, especially among retro video game collectors and ’80s movie enthusiasts:

  • 8-bit Nostalgia: It’s one of the few official video game adaptations of the Ghostbusters II movie. It captures the spirit of the second chapter with graphics and sounds typical of the Sega Master System era.
  • Rarity: The Master System version is less common compared to the NES or Mega Drive editions. Finding it complete with box in good condition has become increasingly difficult.
  • Collectibility: It’s part of the ’80s-’90s Ghostbusters video game collection. For those who want to own all the games based on the original movies, this is an almost essential piece.
  • Box Condition: The box in excellent condition (vivid colors and no significant damage) greatly increases its collectible appeal and market value.
